FROM PROTEST TO POWER!
With Labor Day behind us, things are starting to get busy on campaign teams: yard signs, fundraising, button-making and people canvassing.
And while things are heating up on campaign trails, people are still protesting in the streets. The next No Kings National Day of Action is on October 18 – Berks Dems are already planning! Stay tuned.
At the last No Kings protest in Muhlenberg, over 2000 of us showed up united in defiance. Now it seems like we’re staring down a slow-moving coup. Federal troops in our cities? DC – where elections are decided - under siege? And Trump posting on social “Chicago about to find our why it’s called the Department of WAR”. That’s a reckless threat made by an authoritarian and it is worthy of impeachment. Yes, we are in this place.
If you’ve marched, shouted, blown your horn, or stood in the rain as an act of resistance, this is where we turn protest into progress. Organizing is how we turn protest energy into voting power. And that means knocking on doors, talking to strangers, and building a democracy loving community block by block, township by township.
Imagine what we could pull off if hundreds of us canvassed – seriously.
If you’ve been watching, you already know – it’s going to take all of us to end the chaos and destruction. Not just the loudest voices and the usual crew - everyone.
Get Up, Stand Up, Fight for Your Rights. Sign up to knock on doors for your local Democratic candidates, make phone calls, and put out yard signs.
Ballots and benches are just the beginning. We’re not returning to the past, we’re building the future that should’ve been ours all along: one that listens, answers, and belongs to us. Let’s go!
