DEMOCRATS FIGHTING FOR YOU

Thanks to SCOPA kicking Goofy and Donald Duck out of the districts, Pennsylvanians finally got the chance to elect two kick-ass Democratic Congresswomen:  Madeleine Dean and Chrissy Houlahan. Both women fight every day for our Democratic values including reproductive rights, education equality, and economic justice. 
Representative Dean hit the ground running, backing transformative legislation like the For the People Act, a direct strike against voter suppression, gerrymandering, and political corruption! 
 
She served as an Impeachment Manager following the January 6th insurrection, helped secure gun safety wins with her ghost gun legislation, and fought hard for pay equity and a $15 minimum wage. 

Representative Houlahan has matched that energy every step of the way. She’s clawed back more than $50 million in federal benefits for her constituents and championed critical legislation like the CHIPS and Science Act which rebuilds domestic manufacturing.  She fought for the Inflation Reduction Act to lower drug costs and cap insulin at $35 for seniors. 
 
Her support for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is bringing real dollars to Berks County to combat climate change and modernize roads, bridges, and public transportation all across Pennsylvania.
 
Fair maps gave us a fighting chance, and these women came out swinging.  And that’s what happens when judges step up and redraw the lines to reflect the needs of the people, not the needs of the politicians. 
 
So let’s review: who cleaned up Pennsylvania’s congressional map mess in 2018?  That’s right – the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  And who gave us that fair-minded majority?  Voters did in 2015 when they elected Justices Christine Donohue, Kevin Dougherty, and David Wecht.  Sound familiar?  That’s because all three are up for retention this November.  Their decisions didn’t just redraw lines – they redrew possibilities.  Keeping them on the bench keeps fairness on the map.
