SHILLINGTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

  • Elizabeth Bentz has served Shillington on the Borough Council for 15 years, . She helped plant more than 500 trees in the Borough, taught at Alvernia and Penn State Universities, and runs a small business.

  • Jared Hopgood is a firefighter and member of the Recreation Board. His priorities, if elected to the Borough Council are to:

    • Maintain our emergency services

    • Define the future of business in Shillington

    • Be a responsible steward of our park

GOVERNOR MIFFLIN SCHOOL BOARD

  • Caryn Friedlander is an experienced School Board member, currently serving as Treasurer. She has served 10 years on the School Board, serves as the liaison between the Board and the Berks County Career and Technology Center (BCTC), and serves as Chair of the 16 district Joint Operating Committee at the BCTC.

  • Dr. Michele Roby has been a lifelong advocate for public schools and a champion for Governor Mifflin. Her children are the third generation in her family to attend Governor Mifflin schools!. Dr. Roby has served on the School Board since 2009, and has worked as a school counselor for 23 years

  • As the son of a teacher and parent of two Mifflin students, Ralph Kabakoff knows what it takes to ensure opportunity for every student. On School Board he will: work to attract the best education talent, support additional resources for mental health services, and bring our community together.

  • Laurie Miller is running for School Board because she cares deeply about our schools and the future of our community. On the School Board she’ll put her expertise as a Learning and Development Consultant to work to form strong partnerships with teachers, families, and our community. When elected, she will also collaborate with our townships to attract responsible growth.
