EXETER TOWNSHIP SCHOOL BOARD
-
Julia Shaffer is one of four candidates running for the four positions on the ballot.
Julia J. Shaffer, current Vice President of the Exeter Township School Board, has called the Exeter community home for 40 years.
A 1996 graduate of Exeter Township Senior High School, Shaffer went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Keystone College. She has spent the past 22 years building a career in the insurance industry and currently works as a Complex Claim Director at AIG.
Shaffer and her husband, Justin—a 1999 Exeter graduate—are raising four children, including one recent Exeter graduate and three who are currently enrolled in district schools.
Seeking a second term, Shaffer is actively involved on the board’s Personnel, Education, and Policy committees. She also serves as a liaison to both the Exeter Community Education Foundation (ECEF) and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA).
Her community involvement extends well beyond her elected role.
She has volunteered with the May Days Committee, served on the Schwarzwald UCC Preschool Board, and continues to support local students through the ECEF Student Outreach Committee.
She also coaches with Exeter United FC and serves as a Peer Supporter with Parent to Parent of Pennsylvania—an organization that connects families of individuals with disabilities or special needs and provides emotional support and guidance.
