Vote on HB1364 Paves the Way for Smoother Roads in Berks County and Beyond
On June 17, the Pennsylvania House voted 107–90 to pass Governor Josh Shapiro’s bold infrastructure plan with HB1364, a bipartisan push to repair roads, strengthen bridges, and invest in public transit for all 67 counties, including ours here in Berks.
This is the fourth time the House has advanced this critical funding, and the message couldn’t be clearer: transportation access is not a luxury; it’s a lifeline. From urban transit hubs to rural shared-ride programs, every corner of Pennsylvania stands to benefit.
Once again, all Berks Dems voted in favor while the Republicans did not. Transit for seniors? Jobs across the Commonwealth? Support from both sides of the aisle? Sounds great! Unless - apparently - you're a Berks County Republican. Hsssss
The Road Ahead
The future of PA’s transit depends on three Republican votes. That’s right, just three Republican senators are holding the keys to safer roads, stronger bridges, and reliable public transit across Pennsylvania.
Currently Republicans hold a 27-23 PA State Senate majority. Senators Frank Farry (Bucks), Joe Picozzi (Philadelphia), and Delvin Robinson (Allegheny) represent districts that stand to benefit from HB1364. Their counties would receive significant funding under this bill for SEPTA service in Bucks, transit equity in Philly, and bridge repairs in Allegheny. Like other counties in the state, their counties need this bill to pass. The Democrats delivered. Now will the Republicans?
Call them now and tell them to fund HB1364 for the benefit of their districts and all Pennsylvanians. We’ll make it easy for you:
